AbstractAbout AuthorsReferences
A method for calculating the sound insulation of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) based on the results of an experimental study of sound insulation of CLT of various thicknesses is presented to supplement paragraph 9.1 of SP 275.1325800.2016. The insulation of air noise from CLT panels with a thickness of 60, 100 and 160 mm was determined according to GOST 27296–2012 in certified FSUE “All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Physico-Technical and Radio Technical Measurements” at the test facility “Reverberation rooms for measuring air noise insulation by enclosing structures in laboratory conditions” of Vologda State University. The method of calculating the sound insulation of CLT panels is adopted similar to the current method of determining sound insulation based on regulatory documents for the coordinate of point B in terms of the frequency of wave coincidence or critical frequency. For engineering calculations of sound insulation of single-layer fences, the abscissa of point B can be taken equal to 45,000 divided by the thickness of the fence. The ordinate of point B should be determined by formulas 4.5 SP 275, where the value of the coefficient K can be taken from the results of measuring the sound insulation of CLT panels of various thicknesses. When measuring the sound insulation of CLT panels, the K value was clarified. As a result, the average coefficient value was assumed to be K=3.6 for thin CLT panels and K=2.6 for panels with a thickness of more than 100 mm. The sound insulation values have two segments: to the left of point B – horizontal, to the right – inclined with a rise of 6 dB per octave. Calculated and measured graphs of air noise insulation for CLT panels with a thickness of 60, 100, 160 mm are presented, according to the results of which it can be concluded that the proposed engineering method for calculating sound insulation gives a completely satisfactory result.
