AbstractAbout AuthorsReferences
The paper identifies the main reasons on the basis of which the pile foundation was recognized as the most reliable foundation in Magadan. The results of comparison of the actual calculated resistances under the lower end of the combined (cast-in-situ) and driven piles for clay and sandy soils, obtained on the basis of numerous static tests of piles in Magadan, in relation to the data of the all-Russian Construction Rules (CR), are presented. It is established that the actual design resistance under the lower end of the combined (cast-in-situ) piles for sandy and clay soils at a depth of 5–15 m on average 3.6 times higher than the data presented in the current CR. For pile driven in a predrilled hole, this difference reaches 1.5 times. For bored and cast-in-situ piles, this difference reaches 1.5 times. Technical and economic calculations showed that the design of pile foundations in Magadan in the period from 1975 to 1990 on the basis of pre-construction tests of piles made it possible to save an average of 100 million rubles per year. The same high efficiency of the design of foundations on the basis of pre-construction static tests of piles is maintained at the present time.
