Рассмотрен переходный период от модернизма к постмодернизму в теории зарубежной архитектуры, который демонстрирует смену взглядов ведущих ученых-теоретиков и архитекторов-практиков на процесс развития новейшей архитектуры, когда наметился кардинальный протестный поворот к традиционной декоративно-художественной направленности и полистилизму. Проанализированы научные труды и статьи, малоизвестные и неизвестные в России, которые позволяют глубже понять глобальные перемены, произошедшие во второй половине ХХ столетия в мировой, а затем и в российской архитектуре.
