AbstractAbout AuthorsReferences
Since the creation of the first human settlements on Earth, millennia have passed. The long-term operation of cities such as Damascus, Athens, Beirut, etc., where people have lived for about 5 thousand years, confirms that to ensure sustainable operation, at least the most numerous residential and public buildings should be erected only with the maximum service life. However, the Federal laws and regulations of the Russian Federation of construction content provides outdated rules that require the construction of residential and public buildings in settlements only with a minimum service life (50 years or more), which naturally formed in the construction industry of Russia a dangerous situation: first, life and health of people in buildings when exposed to natural hazards are not guaranteed; secondly, the lives of future generations of people will become much more complicated due to the forced repeated demolition of buildings with the expired service life and the construction of new buildings in their place. The article substantiates the construction of durable residential and public buildings with a service life of 100 years or more.
