The article shows the relevance of designing the thematic leisure complexes for young people (KTRY) and their role in modern society. Examples of existing buildings and complexes used for organizing the leisure and recreation of young people are given, with special attention paid to their advantages and disadvantages from the architectural point of view. This made it possible to analyze architectural and planning solutions, a set of functional-planning components, architectural and spatial composition, as well as the location of KTRY in the structure of the city for the most rational combinations, which allow to increase the social attractiveness of these facilities. The results of the work performed make it possible to formulate the basic principles of architectural design of KTRY in architectural and planning and artistic solutions.
