AbstractAbout AuthorsReferences
The problem of determining the settlement of a deformable foundation plate on an elastic base is considered. The approach based on the method of layer-by-layer summation is applied, which makes it possible to significantly expand the technique due to the use of numerical procedures in order to take into account the influence of the geometry and stiffness parameters of the plate, loading features and heterogeneity of the geological structure of the base. The elastic half-space model is used to describe the behavior of the base. The Boussinesq solution is generalized to the case of non-uniform distribution of contact stresses and arbitrary geometry of the field of influence. The contact pressure is determined using an iterative Schwartz algorithm. The deformation behavior of the plate is modeled using the finite element method. The influence of the foundation plate stiffness on the sediment distribution was studied. An example of design is given. The influence of measures to strengthen the base on the sizes of the plate settlement is considered. The results of numerical studies of foundation sediment on a reinforced base, performed in GeoPlate Pro and Midas 2018 under the assumption of using an elastic model of soil behavior, are presented. The similarity of the results obtained in GeoPlate Pro with the results of finite element modeling in three-dimensional formulation is demonstrated. Comparison of calculation results with monitoring data is made. It is concluded that it is necessary to take into account the rigidity of the building and the nature of the distribution of force effects on the foundation plate when assessing the sediment of the foundation.
